THE NEXT BIG THING
NEW!
Introducing:

NEW from Her Side Co.! Stock Steady is a patent pending device developed by clay target shooters, Dale & Joanna Crouch, for clay target shooters in 2024. Early on in our shooting experience, we recognized the importance of consistent gun mount and that a very slight change in shoulder placement - to the left, right, up or down - equates to a much larger change by the time the shot reaches the clay. More than you might think it does!
Stock Steady to the rescue! Once mounted on a shooting vest, sturdy jacket or padded shirt, Stock Steady becomes a permanent placeholder that the butt of your shotgun fits into perfectly. Said simply: Set. Aim. Fire!
Stock Steady is made of a pliable, yet hardened rubber that will not tear or break easily. It's soft enough that it is not affected by shotgun recoil. It's held on with 4 heavy duty tacks with rubber tips, all included with your purchase. See "installation instructions" below for more information on how Stock Steady is installed.
There are many benefits of using Stock Steady, here are just some of them:
CONSISTENCY! As you know, this is key! A 1/4" up, down, or side to side is a much greater distance once that shot gets out to the target! With Stock Steady, gun mount is removed from the "brain equation." You no longer need to think "do I have my gun in the pocket?" You can concentrate on other things, like keeping your face against the gun! Stock Steady takes one very important element and removes it from all of the things you're unfortunately already thinking about once you're on the line!
TRAINING AID - Great for new and inexperienced shooters! Helps new shooters understand where the shotgun should be placed. Creates a "habit" of placing the shotgun in the correct "pocket" on their shoulder, every time. Coaches and trainers - contact us for bulk order savings!
CLOTHING VARIANCES - Ever shoot in the wintertime? Not fun. Layers of clothing make it very difficult to feel where that gun needs to be on your shoulder. Stock Steady takes the quesswork away!
SLIPPERY VESTS/JACKETS - Rain, sweat, slippery material causing you to lose your mount? Gun sliding down a bit after those first few shots? Not a problem anymore with Stock Steady!
ARM STRENGTH - Ever start drooping that gun once your arm starts to get a bit tired? Stock Steady can help! While it won't totally hold the gun up for you, you can rest assured it's strong enough to withstand the weight necessary to keep the gun in position.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I don't like to wear a vest or it's too hot to wear one... Can I attach Stock Steady to a T-shirt?
A. Technically, yes you can. However, it will not give you the desired result because a T-shirt easily moves! Stock Steady needs to be mounted on clothing that won't move around. We feel it's really all about what you're looking for. If you want to shoot well and not have to worry about consistent gun mount, it's worth wearing a vest or at least a structured/padded shirt.
Q. I have 2 or 3 shooting vests, can I remove Stock Steady and move it to another vest?
A. Yes, you can. It's fairly easy to move it. However, most people find it much easier to buy a 2nd or 3rd device so that it can be left in place all of the time. We've already had shooters purchase 1 device and come back to us later that same day asking for a 2nd or 3rd for another jacket or vest!
Q. Can I buy Stock Steady at an event and shoot the event with it on that same day?
A. Yes, you can, but it's not recommended. Stock Steady takes 25 -100 shots to get used to. Even more to feel totally confident with it on. Everyone is different, but it is an adjustment. Think of it like when you move your rib or change your pad. You don't just make a change and go right out and shoot an important event. You practice with it first and that's what you should do with Stock Steady too.
Q. Can you please post an instructional video?
A. YES! We are working on it! We hope to post a video by 4/30/25 that walks you through the mounting of Stock Steady :) You can always contact us for assistance.

Installation Instructions:
01
Choose a shooter’s vest, jacket, or other sturdy item of clothing to attach your Stock Steady to and put it on (you'll also need your gun). A T-Shirt is not recommended for use with this product. Hold your shotgun up into your "pocket" and have a 2nd person look down the barrel to make sure the gun is not canted (if alone, use a mirror). Once straight, using a Sharpie, have your assistant make a small mark on your vest just below the bottom of the stock. If the gun is slanted to one side or the other, make another small mark on the inside edge of where the stock sits.
02
Take off your vest and lay it out flat on a table. Lay Stock Steady flat side down against the vest where you’ve made the mark(s). Reach into the vest’s underside with one of the pins provided in your hand. If you generally use a pad insert or have a “pad pocket” sewn inside of your vest, pull the mesh away with your other hand so you can still use it. Now move your hand down to where one of the bottom holes of Stock Steady is. Now align the pin so that it can be pushed through the vest into the small hole in the device. Once through, repeat the same procedure for the other 3 pins, making sure the vest is completely flat. Once all 4 pins are in, make sure the vest material is flat and not rippled inside of the device as it must lay flat. If it's not flat, remove one pin at a time and replace until the vest is completely smooth.
03
Now that all 4 pins are installed, BEFORE RUBBER TIPS ARE APPLIED, use tin snips or cutters to snip off the pointed tip of each pin and enough of the pin until it’s only as long as the rubber tip’s height. After cutting the tips, now slip a rubber tip onto each pin, but do not allow the pin to come up through the top of the rubber tip. If it does, throw the rubber tip away, cut more off the pin and install a new tip. The reason the pins get cut before applying the tips is so that it’s harder to push the tip on and therefore also harder for it to fall off. It also alleviates having a sharp tip that could potentially scratch your gun.
04
You're ready to try it! Before heading to the line, hold the gun up again and make sure you have it in your spot or "pocket." If it's not exactly in place, now's the time to move it into the correct position for you. Don't worry, the pins can easily be moved, and we've provided you with 2 extra pins, just in case!
05
Shoot a few boxes of shells with Stock Steady in place. If you find it's in the perfect spot and you're shooting 25, you're in and you can now use a dab of the provided super glue under the rubber tip to ensure the tip doesn't come off. We have found the tips hold up very well, even when no glue is used, but after hundreds of shots, we do recommend a spot or 2 of glue, just to make sure.
